Customer Emotion

A complex physchological state such as fear, anger, or happiness resulting from an interaction with a company. Alchemer Mobile measures customer emotion primarily via the Love Dialog, but also by analyzing the natural language in survey responses. (Not to be confused with Customer Sentiment).

Customer Sentiment

A broad belief or attitude towards a brand, derived by measuring Customer Emotion and usually expressed as positive or negative. Alchemer Mobile uses the terms “Fans” and “Risks,” respectively. (Not to be confused with Customer Emotion).

Decoupling

Targeting customers for ratings separately from the audience that sees the Alchemer Mobile Love Dialog, or prompting for a rating at another point in your customers’ journey that is not immediately after the Love Dialog. Decoupling is necessary because app stores limit the number of times customers can be asked for a rating. It also improves the app experience by decreasing the time needed to complete an interaction, allowing customers to return to what they were doing more quickly.

Fan

A customer with a positive response to the Love Dialog®. A Fan Signals® classification.

Fan Signals®

A collection of features that enable customer segmentation tied to categories of emotion. Fan Signals are derived from recurring Love Dialog® interactions, with customers being characterized as either Fan or Risk.

Interaction Rate

The percentage of customers that have been presented with an Interaction.

Interactions

The core features of Alchemer Mobile, Interactions are the ways to hear from or talk to customers. These include the Love Dialog®, Surveys, Notes, and more.

Love Dialog®

A flexible prompt (“Do you love our app?” or similar) that acts as a jump-off point for other Interactions such as the Rating Dialog or Surveys. The Love Dialog is also used to measure emotion that informs Fan Signals®.

Love Percent

The percentage of people shown the Love Dialog® who click the “Yes” response.

MAU (Monthly Active Users)

Measured by Alchemer Mobile as a rolling total of unique people in the last 30 days who have launched an app with the Alchemer Mobile SDK installed.

Note

A targeted, in-app notification that can trigger another interaction or simply display information.

Note-linked Survey

An in-app survey linked to from a Note.

Response Rate

The percentage of customers that have responded to an Interaction.

Risk

A customer with a negative response to the Love Dialog®. A Fan Signals® classification.
